- two garages on right hand side of yard looking from Maltravers Street were used in the nineteen thirties as the original fire station utilised by the borough council. Dennis (New world) Ace self propelled pump index FBP 921 with side mounted ajax ladder etc and suction. During the fifties these garages were modernised for use by the Sussex Police for their vehicles. Unknown if they were totally rebuilt for this purpose. [visited 2014 - no garages remaining, except one attached to house] |
